With Earth n Bass, Sultan32 seeks to answer the question: “What is 'World Music' in the new millennium?” If this CD is any indication,  it may be the language that makes us truly One World. Sultan32, a d.j. since his teens, is a musician in his own right, and presents ongoing NYC GlobeSonic club nights. A forerunner in the field of World Music, Sultan32 brings us a compilation  album featuring artists such as the Israeli band EXSS's hit “Ebaye”; Manu Chao's “Clandestino”; Malagasy band Tarika's “Mandindo”; the Kalahari Bushmen's “Soul Drummers”; Temple of Sound's “Yo Afro”; Mohammed Abedel Wahab's “Inta Omri”; Bebel Gilberto's “Tanto Tempo”; and Krishna Das on “Baba Hanuman.” Overall, it's a trance groove with everything from Arabic, Spanish, African to Hindu influences. It's definitely a global dance mix. Get it for your next party!

Martin Lass has been called “the George Winston of the violin,” and with good reason. In 'Sonnet,' his exquisitely beautiful music is romantic and deeply passionate. Share it with someone you cherish. Lass, a classically trained violinist with some Gypsy influences,  has performed in concert with Luciano Pavarotti, Julio Iglesias, Olivia Newton John, Seals & Crofts, Joan Baez, and his earliest inspiration, Yehudi Menuhin. Judge a master musician by the company he keeps! While Sonnet is his first American release, he has nine commercially-released CDs to date in distribution to Australia,  New Zealand, and pan-Asian territories. He has been featured in three Royal Command Gala Performances for the British Royal Family and has been nominated for the Australian Grammy Awards. You couldn't ask for a better musical setting for love. So, light the candles, serve a romantic dinner, and share 'Sonnet' with someone you adore. It's perfect!

The Nymphaeum, by Angelwing, is truly a “glorious musical tribute to female empowerment!” It's about growth, identity, love, and wisdom. You can find lyrics like: “Every woman has it in her/ We just have to dig so deep/ We just have to get to the radical seed/You figure it out hey/I’m the Maiden, Mother, and Crone/ You figure it out hey/ I will never leave you alone/ I am spirit. I will come to you when you sleep/ I am matter you have dug me up from the deep.” Reenie Varga and Erin Shawn Hawkins sing in divine harmony, and Rick Costello, songwriter, plays guitar on The Nymphaeum, which also includes piano and cello accompaniment. The style is akin to Dead Can Dance or Enya, but with classical orchestrations and Angelwing's esoteric vocal tracks. This music will make you feel thrilled to be female! Share it with your sisters, your mom, and for the Goddess' sake, share it with your daughters. They'll be all the more powerful for its influence.
