The
Architecture of World Peace
by
Chris Adamson
My story begins in 1993. Picture a hot, sweltering summer in Washington,
DC. I, along with 4,000 others, had come to create peace in the capital
city of the most powerful country on earth through silence
through meditation, in a city which at that time had the unpleasant
reality of being one of America's most crime-ridden cities.
But before we get to the story, a brief word about individual and collective
destiny karma, or the law of consequences. It's easy to grasp,
even Physics has its own version action and reaction are
equal and opposite. The universe is a closed energy loop!
Our individual karma is created from our individual actions, but these
are coming from the inner mover our individual consciousness.
Our hand moves but we know it is our consciousness that is moving the
hand.
In the same way, the collective consciousness all of us added
together whether it be of a city, state, or nation is generating
actions and reaping collective consequences. In fact, if we see stress
growing in society, and government and its leaders making decisions
that are negatively affecting us, they are simply responding to the
social field of collective consciousness.
We could even go so far as to say that the Government is a mirror of
collective consciousness. By its decisions and actions it is simply
returning to the people their collective fortune sown in the past and
to be reaped in the now! Collective consciousness is the prime mover
of national destiny. If things aren't working out, don't look
to government, or a change of it, to solve the problem they are
in a catch 22. It's the collective consciousness that needs to be
de-stressed and spring cleaned.
Let's see if modern science can help us with the design of a suitable
washing machine!
Quantum Field theory in Physics has probed into the essence of matter
and has found at the Planck scale of space and time (10-33 cm, 10-43
seconds) the unified field of natural law. This unified field is very
subtle, present in every grain, and, therefore, throughout creation.
It is simply the most concentrated field of nature's intelligence
and creativity self-sufficient, self-interacting pure
coherence and pure harmony. The unified field holds in its 'memory'
how everything can fit harmoniously with everything else it has
an infinitely correlated architecture or geometry it can provide
the architectural blueprint for world peace. How?
What modern science doesn't teach is that there is a subjective
element to the unified field. We humans are also part of the natural
order. We experience that we are creative, intelligent that we
have an unending stream (in fact an unstoppable stream) of thoughts
that bubble up every day the expression of our consciousness,
our creativity, our intelligence. This stream is coming from the same
unified field that Physics has glimpsed through its billion-dollar research
programs.
It is possible to experience the unified field in a simple way for ourselves,
at the source of thought. By consciously going to it we discover it
to be our very Self. Experience resides as memory. Experience the unified
field consciously as the Self, and all the coherence at the source of
creation will cascade into the stressed and confused world we know.
So there I was sitting in a large basement meeting hall in east DC in
the summer of 1993 practicing the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Siddhi
program including the now famous yogic flying (an advanced and powerful
meditation practice from the yoga system of Patanjali). In fact, 4,000
of us were gathered in groups throughout the city. We were seeing if
we could fashion a more positive collective consciousness by applying
the group dynamics of consciousness.
We had promised the police chief that over June and July we would reduce
the crime by 20%. The retort came quickly back: that'll take 20
inches of snow in the middle of summer! To provide objectivity, the
whole 'intervention' study was being monitored and evaluated
independently by the sociology departments of several non-affiliated
local universities.
At the start of June, each meditation session was punctuated every few
minutes by the screech of sirens from the main road outside an
ordinary day in that part of DC! Gradually over the weeks, less sirens,
until, towards the end of July, days without sirens even days
without anyone being murdered! We didn't talk, cajole, or try and
persuade. We didn't go into the population at large. We just touched
collectively the peaceful power of the unified field of
the Self!
It's marvelous to have had this experience first hand. It gives
one faith in a greater good fortune and future for humanity.
The scientific research now published in peer-review prestigious journals
shows that our peaceful collective consciousness for two months had
been able to neutralize the stress in DC's collective consciousness.
(See www.mum.edu/m_effect.)
Scientists applying the mathematical laws governing coherent systems
(such as lasers) have deduced that a group of 8,000 together would be
needed to create balance for the whole world's population. The phenomenon
is called The Maharishi Effect in deference to Maharishi Mahesh Yogi
who provided the Technology of the Unified Field from the ancient Vedic
tradition of knowledge.
Just think: for a paltry cost in terms of military budgets, a permanent
group could be established here in the USA a group of students
perhaps, so that the nation is always neutralizing its own stress
and sowing positivity in the world outside its borders. What a gift
for the family of man from the most creative nation in the world!
