Beauty and Morality are both in the eye of the beholder

Beauty and Morality are both an inside job – along with Happiness. Now, I'll try not to get on my soapbox, but I'll have to talk a little bit about the election. Some of us who have never even been in the boxing ring still felt the stomach punch like a real knockout. It took awhile to process what had happened. George Bush – four more years.

I hope and pray that all of us – not just the fundamentalist, right-winged righteous ones that worked so hard for this outcome – but all of us will be forced to take a good look at what's happening and what's at stake here. I'm afraid, (not literally) that we have a real slippery slope ahead that will make climbing the mountain to higher consciousness a real challenge. My personal motto has been, “When it gets too tough for everyone else, it's perfect for me.” I believe we will witness how many others can hang tough in the years to come.

In my personal way of thinking, I know that our Higher Selves – the Supreme Beings, the Gods, the Christ –  all control us from within and will ultimately be guiding us all the way to Nirvana. I truly believe that everything that is real and good lives inside of us, and our outside beauty and morality is just smoke and mirrors.

It's a real cliff-hanging time, and we will either choose the summit in the mountains where the air is pristine, or we will slide backwards into the limited thinking that is fueled by those who are filled with greed and wrong thinking.

Judgment is the key word here. If you don’t judge, then how can you fight for any belief that says a marriage is only for a man and a woman? I say that marriage is a union and occurs when your heart is given to another.

Abortion isn't allowed or condoned by government or society. It's tolerated because we want to support the right to choose. I believe that until we're ready to take on every woman's issues surrounding abortion, whether it be an immature mistake, a rape, or not having family or financial support – you name it – it's not our business.  Until we can take a woman from conception through birth and give her real solutions that work and help, then we should stay out of it. Education works! So why don't we have an awareness center next to every abortion clinic?

I think it's hard not to judge. You have to watch every word you say and consciously choose verbiage that gives the other person some wiggle room. Start sentences with first person statements like “I feel” – “For me, this is how I think,” or, “I'm not trying to push my views on you,” etc., etc., etc. It's important not to speak in absolutes. Oh! and don't use don't and not. We might feel, look, and seem to be slipping and slopping, but we aren't. We are simply shaking things out and redefining the constitution as our forefathers intended.

Unfortunately, we are still in the breaking down phase. When the dust settles, we will rebuild on a stronger foundation.  By then, everything that is not built on truth will have crumbled. After the time of intolerance and judging others has passed – and it will – we might end up with a renewed value system that includes spirituality, pro-choice, and marital rights for all human beings. Maybe we'll even have a government that promotes truth, freedom and security.

I believe the time has come, not for the second coming of Christ, but for the first time we'll take a real look at Church and State and how we will redefine the role they should play in the USA. Separation of these two bodies is essential and, if that doesn't happen, we will only continue to divide the people more. The preamble of the Constitution starts by saying,“We the people of United States, in order to form a more perfect union” I don't read anything here that remotely suggest a separation of the people.

So, my friends, don't lose faith – strengthen your faith. Trust the universal laws that work for us on all levels. Share your knowledge of Universal Energy that includes all faiths and all cultures around the world. Get involved by sharing how you think and feel to friends and family that might be interested in a different way that is inclusive and non-dogmatic. In the way that “Life works differently for each of us,” is the way life must be understood. The Law of One: When one is harmed, all are harmed. When one is helped all are helped.
