Another
example is a forty year old woman complaining of chronic sinusitis
and the feeling of constriction in her throat. Reading the subtle
Qi yielded a severe disharmony in the causal (mental) body and in
the fifth chakra. The disharmony was caused because she couldn't
talk about actions she had taken that were in direct conflict with
the ideas of her strict Roman Catholic upbringing. Stimulation of
a single point on the neck resolved the chronic problems.
Esoteric Acupuncture is another approach to expanding the healing
possibilities for acupuncture. Mikio Sankey has authored two books
– Esoteric Acupuncture, Gateway to Expanded Healing and Discern the Whisper.
He bridges the gap between the strict TCM and Vibratory styles.
Many of the fundamental concepts are similar with Vibratory Acupoint
Balancing, but Dr. Sankey has developed fixed-point patterns for
working with subtle Qi by stimulating vortex points on the body
in specific sequences. The points are usually TCM points, but emphasis
is placed on finding the precise energetic location of each point
by learning to feel the vortex itself. Even though the patterns
are static, the practitioner must be able to read subtle Qi to determine
both the exact locations of the points and the correct patterns
to use. The Esoteric Acupuncture system integrates TCM with esoteric
knowledge from Hindu, Jewish, and Grecian systems. A few examples
of the patterns include those for balancing energy in the chakras,
impacting the flow of Kundalini, harmonizing heaven and earth energies,
forming a pathway to spirit via the antahkarana, and activating
transpersonal chakras. Particular emphasis is placed on opening
the heart center to spirit. Dr. Sankey feels that this is the most
important thing any practitioner can do personally and for clients.
It is the critical challenge of our time in history.
The new esoteric styles of acupuncture open new healing possibilities.
Practitioners can address a much wider variety of ailments using
acupuncture techniques. Practitioners who are not acupuncturists
can learn to find the disharmonious vortexes and stimulate them
without needles. People with lingering ailments may find relief
in these new healing modalities. Most importantly, spiritual healing
in the subtle Qi will result in profound positive changes for all
mankind.
