Well, It's election time and It’s our responsibility to VOTE!!! The Preamble of the Constitution starts by saying, "We The People of The United States,” NOT “We the people of Congress,” or “We the people that work in the Oval Office of the White House.” Remember THAT; because we really need everyone at the polls, maybe more than ever before, we need your voice, your vote and your intelligent mind to define some reason behind the madness that's going on in OUR country.
I know when I watch politics and get irritated at what goes on at Capital Hill, it's because I'm smarter. That's not being egotistical; we're all smarter and it makes us feel weak and UN-empowered to watch another day of stupidity and people saving their own butts, not ours.
There has been a big push by certain liberal TV personalities to vote out all incumbents....on both sides of the aisle. Show them their paychecks are also not secure. I wonder if they were part of the real world how they would feel if we out-source our government??? That sounds crazy, but how do we justify paying them? The fact remains that our Congress-men and women make $165,200.00 for a part-time job (notice I didn't say earned). They now actually work approximately a two-day week; that’s 102 days a year.
They should (at least) have a work schedule, be inconvenienced with morning and evening traffic, and spend one day a week in a cubicle office where every conversation, fart, burp, cough, food smells, and every other private jester and function is heard by all. They haven't had to deal with any inconveniences and I’ll bet the minimum wage would raise in a hurry if they did.
If they would do this, I'd willingly give them the salary they earned, and then I could feel they had some connection and understanding of how the other half live. Maybe then they would appreciate the advantages they enjoy.
"We the People of the United States" pay taxes that are too high, to pay their salaries that are too high for the work they do – or don't do.
I'm sorry, but I do agree that the middle class needs some help!!! The struggle that people endure is appalling when we continue to see nothing being done and if the people that we pay to protect our best interests aren’t spending enough time together to vote on anything worthwhile, then why are we not raising hell???!!!
I'm sorry, but none of us would have a job if we had a fraction of their incompetence.
I don't really enjoy writing about "Our Government." I do understand Democracy and love our Country. Part of what’s wrong is Bush’s audacity to say “you’re with me or against me.” Please! I don’t follow anyone off a bridge even if they think it’s a good idea!!! I like to think for myself…
I get mail from some that want to debate me, but I'm not a debater. I don’t want to change your mind. I want you to have your own opinion, but have an educated one. Listen and learn enough to state your case and don't be blind-sided. The two-party system isn't working anymore, and maybe that's why Congress doesn't come to work.
Maybe they don't want to spend that much time in a hostile environment. Only problem is, they are supposed to be the problem solvers. Maybe we need to pay more taxes so another group could govern them and then it would work...
Gosh, that sounds like Bush logic...Now I’m going off the deep end!
Check out the web-site www.dontvote.com. They list the candidates and easy access to their individual websites. They are encouraging a smarter way to vote by learning something about the people, not just the party lines.
Please come out and Vote…
Blessings,
Bye honeys,

A Memorial Announcement for Mary Pratt
Mary Pratt passed away on October 17, 2006 at age 61.
Some of you will remember Mary Pratt from the 80’s, and those of you that haven’t been in Atlanta long enough to have known her, you missed a real visionary.
Mary Pratt started the first New Age news-letter in the mid 80’s and it quickly grew into a real publication called, Thought Trends. Thought Trends was the perfect name for such a publication because back then the spiritual community was considered very trendy and strange.
Twenty years ago Atlanta’s Metaphysical community was just starting to grow, but Mary had the vision to bring Metaphysical Expo’s to town in a big way. She named them appropriately as well, “The Magnificent You” Conferences. Many out of town Authors and workshop facilitators were introduced to Atlanta and our growing community because of Mary.
She was quite a lady and was the way shower for many people that will never forget her spirit and her enormous energy.
In 1992, Mary was diagnosed with Cancer and stopped Thought Trends. The community didn’t have a paper and a voice until June 1993 when Aquarius, A Sign of the Times was birthed.
